Esp8266 serial port wifi7/12/2023 ![]() elect.html ) to wait for data on both the uart and the socket, and then from whichever one has data write that to the other one. Ideally what you'd do is have a select loop (see. ![]() ttp-server for an example of running a socket server. I’ve been able to get it to work but there is latency in the serial transmission. The ultimate goal is to control RGB pixels. Once you have a WiFi connection, you need to run a socket server, and for each incoming socket, you can run the loop that connects the data from the socket to the uart. I am attempting to use an ESP8266 to read E1.31 (SACN) data over WiFi and then send it out to a Mega 2560 over serial. How do you want the WiFi to work? Should your PC connect to the ESP8266's soft-AP, or do you want the ESP8266 to connect to your existing (i.e. What did you imagine using to connect? telnet? netcat? Some sort of widget embedded in a web page (kind of like webrepl?). You first need to think about how to connect from your PC to the ESP8266. Conceptually this is pretty simple, if there's data available send it to the (wifi) socket, and if you have wifi data available, write it to the uart. You can use machine.UART to make a serial connection to the Arduino.
